Elizabeth A. Scott, 87

Ft. Myers, FL - Elizabeth A. (Betty) Scott of Ft. Myers, FL and formerly of Holden, MA, passed away December 6, 2016 in Mystic, CT after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Everett L. and Hazel R. Oldham of Dudley, MA and was predeceased in 2008 by her husband Kenneth E. Scott, Sr., Professor Emeritus at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).

Betty attended Northfield School for Girls, and Mount Holyoke College where she received her degree in early childhood education. She worked as a substitute teacher in Holden, MA, and in the Instructional Media Center and Registrar's Office at WPI. Most of her time was spent caring for her husband and four children. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her faith was important to her and she was active in her church. She had a great love for reading and was happiest when surrounded by her favorite books.

She is survived by her son Kenneth and wife Jayne of Mystic, CT, daughter Cynthia and husband Bill Morrison of Ossipee, NH, son Jeffrey and wife Lynn of Holden, MA, son Donald and wife Trinity of Naples, FL, and her six grandchildren David and Julia (Kenneth), Ryan and Mary-Elizabeth (Jeffrey) and Taylor and Ayden (Donald).

Memorial donations may be made to the Fort Myers Congregational United Church of Christ, 8210 College Parkway, Ft. Myers, FL 33919.
