To:: The Weisburger Family: My wife and I would like to express fond memories of your loved one. Her warm smile and instructional wisdom, during our years of service together at NIH in Bethesda, Maryland, will never be forgotten or replaced. Tim & Joyce Benjamin, Greenville, N.C.301-535-7435

On behalf of Montgomery College Foundation, Montgomery College and our students, we continue to remember Dr. Weisburger's generosity and the legacy she has left through her endowment supporting students. We remember her thirst for knowledge and indomitable spirit.

I send my sincerest condolences to the Weisburger family. Betsy was a long time associate and close friend. While internationally recognized for her work in chemical carcinogenesis, Betsy was also a humble and grounded person who mentored many younger scientists and gave generously to the educational community. Many don't know that Betsy had also been an avid hiker and supporter of the Appalachian Trail. My friend, you will be missed.

Betsy was a real pioneer, not only as an independent woman scientist, but as a mentor and friend to many women coming after her who aspired to research careers. Personally I owe her a great debt of gratitude for critical mentoring and encouragement early in my career. Her attitude was not "Is it possible?" but "When are you going to do it!" One of her best comments, made at the SOT meeting, went like this: "If I had always done what my mother told me to do I would never have had any fun!" ...

Betsy was an incredible scientist and true friend, for many decades. She came to visit the night before my dad passed away at the Lutheran home. She was the mother superior of chemical carcinogenesis and was always on top of the latest findings. She was a truly invaluable resource and guide. we will miss her dearly and extend the condolences to the whole family which I met at the 90th birthday dinner celebration.

Brilliant, endlessly curious, generous, considerate, humorous, and life-affirming woman. All of us at Lebanon Valley College will miss this truly great and inspiring graduate and leader.

To The Weisburger Family:
We were heartbroken to hear of Dr. Weisburger's death.
I worked with her for 44 years, before I retired in 2010. I worked in the lab in cancer research.
I obtained my degree as a cancer research chemist, during my tendency at NIH.
She was a beautiful, warm hearted lady and she loved my family as well.
It was sheer joy knowing her and working along side her.
May God bless each of you!

Elizabeth WEISBURGER was a wonderful person who was always helpful. Enjoyed her beautiful smile and her cheerful manner. My heartfelt sympathy to the family on loosing the presence such a great spirit.

To Elizabeth's family:
All of us at Montgomery College are saddened to hear of Elizabeth's passing. She was such an inspiration! We loved her spirit, her attitude, her smarts and we loved hearing about her life experiences that shaped who she was -- a generous spirit who never forgot that helping others to get a good education is the most important thing.
Francene Walker on behalf of the Montgomery College Foundation, students, faculty and staff of Montgomery College.
