Ella Rose Quinilty

Ella Rose Quinilty, native of Washington Parish and resident of Baton Rouge, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the age of 85 at Nottingham Regional Rehab Center in Baton Rouge. Rose was born on July 27, 1928 to the late James and Velma Simmons; and graduated from Pine High School in Washington Parish as valedictorian of her class. She was an active member of Head of Island Baptist Church in Maurepas. She loved flowers, and enjoyed catching up with friends and family over the phone. Rose was a loving wife, mother of 5, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She will be missed by so many. Rose is preceded in death by her husbands, Dan Cline and Tanis Quinilty; son, Vernon Kent Fitzpatrick; and brothers, Jake, Dewitt, and Bernell Simmons. She is survived by her son, Paul Fitzpatrick and wife Becky; daughters, Paulette Bordelon, Linda Versen and husband Alfred, and Carolyn Merriett and husband Jimmy; sister, Eva Simoneaux; grandchildren, Jackie Warren and husband Johnny, Paula Buford and husband Terry, Lisa Salard and husband Paul, Carol Leach and husband David, Joseph Bordelon and wife Leslie, Brad Fitzpatrick, Jeffrey Fitzpatrick, David Fitzpatrick, Jodi LeBlanc and husband Robert, Ryan Versen and wife Victoria, Tammy Moore and husband Steve, and Jimmy Merriett Jr.; 23 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm, Saturday, August 10, 2013 until time of service at 2:00 pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Joseph Bordelon, Ryan Versen, Brad Fitzpatrick, Michael Salard, Buford T. Buford, and Dillon Duplessis.
