Ella Sue attended Murfreesboro Central High School, graduating with honors as a beta scholar, member of the National Honor Society and also member of the high school color guard. Ella Sue worked as a bookkeeper at the Red Mill before settling into her role as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was introduced, by a relative, to Maris Chester Rone of Mt. Juliet, TN. They married December 6, 1942; beginning a love affair lasting nearly 65 years before Chester’s sudden death in 2007. Ella Sue’s beloved brother, Edward Sims Seward, preceded her in death as a WWII casualty, Leyte, Philippines, 1945.

After Chester’s discharge from WWII, he and Ella Sue moved to Bakertown, a Nashville, TN suburb. They were active members of Mill Creek Baptist Church and spent the next 30 years devoted to rearing their three children and remodeling their Ezell Road home. In 1976, Ella Sue and Chester moved to Murfreesboro to assist their aging parents. They continued their active church life at Southeast Baptist Church, caring for Jim and Elizabeth Seward and Maris Whitney Rone until their deaths.

Not sure what to say?

Ella Sue was so nice & helpful to my mother, Mrs Cora Walkup , in 2007. My family has never forgot that and sorry we didn't get to the services. But I can't get out much now. Tom we are really sorry to hear of her passing. June Walker

I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I will have a mass said for healing for you and your family.

She was a lovely lady and a good friend. She will be missed as we miss Chester every day.

I am so sorry to hear about Mrs. Rone's passing. I remember her from ParkView Meadows. She sat at my mother's table at meals and I enjoyed talking to her so much.
Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
