Lorne and Sons Funeral Home - Delray Beach Obituary

Ellen A. Cantabene, known lovingly as “Toni” to all who knew her, was born on May 8, 1946, in Newburyport, Massachusetts. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 28, 2025.

Toni was the daughter of the late Joseph George Coppola and Alice Elizabeth Eaton. She grew up in Newburyport alongside her beloved siblings Ada Coppola, Joe Coppola, and Rocky Coppola, who survive her today.

Above all else, Toni’s greatest pride and joy were her four children: Gerard B. Philbrick Jr., Brian Joseph Philbrick, Tracy Lynn Nichols, and Jason Edward Philbrick Sr. She worked tirelessly throughout her life to provide for them, ensuring they had a safe and loving home. Her devotion and sacrifice were unwavering; she balanced hard work with nurturing care, always putting her children’s needs ahead of her own.

Toni was also the proud grandmother of Ashley Rowland, Heather Nichols, Shannon Lagano, Jasmine Gonzalez, Jason Philbrick Jr., Jalicia Philbrick, Jadyn Philbrick, Jahvone Gonzalez, Jamie Gonzalez, and Gerard B. Philbrick III (Trey), as well as a delighted great-grandmother to many great-grandchildren who brought her endless happiness. She loved watching her family grow and took pride in the lives they built.

Toni’s life was centered around her family. She will be remembered for her strength, perseverance, and the deep love she poured into raising and supporting her children and grandchildren. Her legacy of devotion, hard work, and unconditional love lives on in those she cherished most.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with a 2:00pm Funeral Service at Lorne and Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33483 where we will honor and celebrate Toni’s life.

Toni’s love, resilience, and unwavering commitment to her family will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
