We are so sorry for your loss. Our Mom, Debbie Milton, grew up with your Mom. Ellen was the maid of Honor for Debbie when she married our Dad at the Stratford Congregational Church in 1944. We have a beautiful picture of your Mom from that day. Our sister has the breakfast set Ellen gave as a wedding gift. Such memories....

Dear Cynthia and family,

I worked with Elllen for many years at the newspaper. She was a special person. I really enjoyed reading her column each week. My condolences to you and your family at this time. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. My condolences to your family. Although I didn't know Ellen's family personally we did know Ellen well. She and my mom, Shirley Little (who passed away 6 years ago), were best friends from elementary school on up. I'm sure "the girls" are up there chatting about old times. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Melissa (Little) Schmidt

After years of working with her, I came to admire and respect her. She took tremendous pride in what she did and was a great woman.

I always admired Ellen for her independence, her work ethic, her columns and for the many conversations we had in the newspaper office. My sympathy goes out to her family. RIP Ellen.
