I just (sadly) found this obituary. Oh, Mickey the world is such a lesser place without you. As mentioned in your story, you welcomed me into your home when I was stationed at Naval Air Station Fallon, Nev., that first Thanksgiving. While serving, I was warmly accepted into your 'family' for the next four years. I always had a place for the holidays. When I found, fell in love with, and married my Janet, you generously offered your home for that special day. The luck is still with us 35...

I am sure saddened to hear of Mickey's passing. I attended Carroll at the same time and she was in my husband, Tom Lorang's, class. They were class officers together. The world lost a good one! She and Tom are probably up their catching up! My thoughts and prayers to Mickey's family!

Mickey had a heart of gold. Her quiet but determined manner of interacting with others and serving the poorest of the poor, was inspiring. Mickey served at Catholic Charities for more than 8 years. The kitchen crew she served with became like family for her; she arrived early once a week and stayed until the last of our clients was served lunch.
