Not sure what to say?

Finding this many years later It warms my heart to see the messages and memories shared about my grandmother Ellen/Lolly Groot and I love that her memory will always be very much alive. She was an amazing lady and mom to my mom. I have been thinking about her recently due to the upcoming date of her passing. Which falls on Easter this year. My mom used to tell stories of her making bunny cakes on my moms birthday which is the 16th. We love you Lolly. -Fiona Cottrell April 7 2022

Ellen/Lolly was an amazing woman and deserves all of the credit that she has received. She was my mother's mother and I was closer with her than any of my other grandparents. She was a sweet, fun-loving, kind, and amazing human being. I have witnessed that for only the eight years I have known her. Now I am twelve and finishing my first year in middle school, I wish she could see me now but I know she is watching from above. Much love to her and anyone she is close with.

Even her final wishes showed her love for others. Take strength in sharing her legacy from God's word. Isa. 35:10

After more than fifty years, I was fortunate to visit with Ellen at high-school reunions in 2013 and 2014. What a nice lady! I'm sorry that I missed the years in between. My condolences to her family and friends.

Stephanie and Donna,
So sorry to hear of your mom's passing on to her heavenly home. When I think of Ellen I think of one of the sweetest people I've known in my lifetime.
Girls, you do know that she was one of my all-time favorite substitutes, room mother, Brownie Scout Mom, and friend.
Though I am now retired I like to think that a lot of her rubbed off on me. My love for the children and education has just transferred from the classroom to the neighborhood and my church.

Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Ellen was so gracious during my time as a professor at the Washington and Lee law school. My wife and I will miss, but always remember her. May her outstanding legacy bring you comfort. Sincerely, Blake and Paulette Morant

So deeply sorry for your loss. May your hearts find comfort from God's marvelous future promises. 1 Cor. 15:21,26
