I had the privilege of being Ellen’s nurse for a little over two years. Although she was already non-verbal when I met her, she communicated with me through eye contact, holding my hand, smiling, and an occasional word or two. She was such a kind and gentle person and I will always remember her laugh, smile, and the gratitude in her eyes.
