Our sympathies for your loss - Ellen was such a joy to be with - a lovely gracious spirit - hoping memories of her long life and strong spirit can comfort you during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with you.

Our heartfelt sympathy to all of the family at the passing of a lovely lady. Ellen was really a "one of a kind". Her love of life and family will live on. We send our love from the entire Richard Lyman family.

My parents (Floyd and Charlotte Wallace) were great friends with Herb and Ellen. Over the years I heard so many wonderful stories about Ellen's kind heart and gentle sense of humor. It is sad that our parents are now gone, and we are left to carry on the family values and traditions without them. Heartfelt condolences to all of Ellen's family and especially to my dear friend, Rich.
Fondly, Carol Wallace (Middlefield, CT)

Ellen was my mother, Dorothy Willett's, closet and dearest friends and welcomed my family with such kindness when we moved to Durham in 1971. Ellen was a huge part of our family life growing up and always welcomed you with such open and effusive excitement it always made you feel spectacular to be around her. Ellen and her family hosted my post wedding breakfast at her lovely home and it was absolutely perfect. We will always remember her electric smile and extreme kindness and grace. ...

What a darling Ellen was. She had a grace and glow about her that was unmistakable. How I wish there had been more time to visit her.

Dear John, David, Richard, and Amy,
Your Mom has long been one of my very favorite people, and I will treasure many fond memories of this very special lady.

Ellen had such "joie de vivre"! May her memory forever make us smile. My sincere sympathy to all the Pattersons.

Dear John, David, Richard and Amy. A legacy is over. What a wonderful woman.
