Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Punches, Ellen Lorraine Keys (nee Sheridan), 89, Born April 9, 1923 and baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Tuesday, March 12, 2013.

Preceded in death by her dear husband of 39 years, Ralph "Bud" Keys, loving husband of 24 years, Harold Punches, dear brother Eugene Sheridan and dear daughter-in-law Sandra Keys (nee Teson). Cherished mother of Randall (Kathy) Keys, Richard (Maureen) Keys and David (Vickie) Keys; caring and nurturing grandmother of 27 and great-grandmother of 30; dearest sister-in-law of Bettie Sheridan; dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Ellen had many circles of friends including her lifelong sewing, singing and dancing companions, her caring friends at the Fountains, the salon, McDonalds, and her dear dominoes-playing Presentation girls.

Ellen was a friend to all, often engaging in warm conversation with strangers and always eliciting smiles. With perfect hair, make-up and accessories, and stylish outfits, she enjoyed bringing out the best in all of us, teaching self-respect, good manners, love of cards and the Cards, and trust in God. She never missed an opportunity to join in any fun time, and throughout her life created many.

Not sure what to say?

I still think of Ellen . I have her photo in my wallet. Memories Shirley Huesgen. Ballwin McDonalds

Sincere Sympathy from the "Lone Survivor" of the "Infamous Pinochole Club" - I'm so sorry I missed Ellen's funeral. We shared many happy memories, kindergarden to high school with all of our wonderful children.
Blessings and Prayers,
Marie Grotegeers

We were all saddened to hear of your mother's passing. She was a fun and sweet lady. I, personally, will not forget the day she came back from a Halloween Party in the fanciest witches hat I've ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing her with us. It was a pleasure and an honor.

Ellen, You were the kind of life-long friend that I hope to be. You were the kindest friend to my Grandma, even when she wasn't sure who you were and where she might be going with you in the end. She always had fun with you! I will never forget you two and your special friendship. Thank you for that special gift to my Grandma and our family. You've touched our hearts and lives forever.

Ellen was a very dear friend to my mother, Marie. They spent many fun times together through the years sewing, singing, dancing, card playing and putting on shows. She was a classy lady and she will be sadly missed.

To the Family of Ellen : I loved having a friendship with Ellen , the pretty lady from McDonalds. We became friends there , as most of her friends were. Always beautiful, inside and out. Gorgeously dressed always. They were there for me when my husband passed 3-13 -05'. We all played Gin and she was hard to beat. She always got us in the end, her family was so important to her and loved each one so much. I was able to do the 5K walk with her and family. And later my friend and I went....

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
