Ellen M. Rauscher, a resident of Perkasie, PA, for over 80 years, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at her home.  She was 91.

She was the wife of 45 years of the late Paul J. Rauscher until his passing on February 24, 2002.

Born in Quakertown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Helen (Detweiler) Meggers.  A 1948 graduate of Sell-Perk High School, Perkasie, she was also a graduate of the Philadelphia Biblical University (now known as Cairn University), Philadelphia, PA. Later, she attended classes at the IBM Computer Systems Training Center, in Philadelphia for continuing education requirements for her career in IT at Grand View Hospital.

Mrs. Rauscher had been employed by Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp., PA,  for 32 years, first working as the Business Office Manager and then as Manager of Information Computer Systems until retiring in 1994.  Prior to that, she had worked in the Accounting Department of Dimmig Electric Company, Quakertown, for nine years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Perkasie where for many years she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, was a greeter and was a Pioneer Girls Leader.  She was active with the First Baptist Church Cancer Support Group, designing prayer sheets and sending cards of encouragement to cancer patients.

Mrs. Rauscher also sang in their family gospel-singing group, “The Rauscher Family Singers”, which was formed by her husband.  They traveled for four years and released a record, “God Gave Me a Song”.  A volunteer for many years at Grand View Hospital, she enjoyed plants, flowers and outside gardening.  Along with music, she loved Bible studies and solving puzzles, especially crossword and cryptograms.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra A. Rauscher, of Telford, PA; and six nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Meggers.

Her Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Perkasie, 1600 North Fifth Street, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.  Interment will be held privately in St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ Cemetery, Perkasie.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Paul Rauscher Memorial Fund for the Youth Ministries of First Baptist Church of Perkasie, 1600 North Fifth Street, Perkasie, PA  18944.
