Recently, when I learned that Ellen had died, I wrote a note of rememberance It lt did not post so I am redoing it. Ellen and I became friends in the late 60s. We shared many interests in early childhood education, taking our children low tiding, and education in general. One of our projects was an "open classroom" at Auke Bay School. So sorry to hear of Ellen´s passing. We worked together at the Portland planning bureau and she taught me so such in my early years as a planner. What a positive force! She talked about her children all the time and I know she loved you all so much. Could you keep me posted on the memorial next summer. If possible I would like to attend. God Bless- Julia
