SHARP, Ellie Irene (Thamalis) Ellie Irene (Thamalis) Sharp, 83, 0f Somers, beloved wife of the late Rollin "Dale" Sharp died Tuesday, (November 17, 2009) at her home. She was born in Laconia, NH, daughter of the late John and Effie (Dimitrakis) Thamalis and had lived in West Hartford before moving to Somers. Ellie was a longtime hairdresser and owned her own shops. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral where she served as the Choir Director. She was a former President of The Ladies of Philoptochos Society and President of The Daughters of Penelope both in Portland, Oregon. She loved to cook and she cooked for the St. George Greek Festival for several years and was an excellent seamstress. Ellie loved life and was very vibrant. She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa D. Porter and her husband Ross of Somers, her grandchildren, Diana Elizabeth Porter, John Charles Porter, two sisters, Nathalie Trent of Kingsport, TN and Titika Blackwell of Rockville, MD many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. The family would like to thank the Home and Community Health and Hospice for all the special care given Ellie. The funeral will be Saturday, November 21, 2009, 11 a.m. in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Luke, 400 Prospect Street, East Longmeadow, MA. Burial will be Monday, November 23, 2009, 1 p.m. in The State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown. Visiting hours will be Saturday, prior to the funeral, 10-11 a.m. at the church.
