Elliott Henry Devlin BRADLEY -- Elliott Henry Devlin, lovingly known as "Bay," of Bradley, South Carolina, passed away on Sept. 27, 2014. He was born on Jan. 6, 1937 in Bradley, South Carolina, to George T. Devlin, Sr. and Marie Johnson Devlin, who preceded him in death. After graduating from Mims High School in McCormick, South Carolina, "Bay" continued on to receive a degree from Denmark Technical College in Denmark, South Carolina. Bay worked as a custodial engineer for Greenwood District 50, Greenwood, South Carolina, and retired after 38 years of service. He was a dedicated and loyal member of Mt. Sinai AME Church in Bradley, South Carolina. He served as a committed Trustee for fifteen years or more. "Bay" leaves behind his brother, retired Presiding Elder, The Reverend George T. Devlin, Jr. (Ruth Virginia Middleton Devlin, also his devoted caretaker) and two other sisters-in-law, Lillie Patton Devlin and Edna Grant Devlin, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Sinai AME Church, with Rev. Samuel L. McPherson officiating; Rev. Waymon Coleman presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. Public viewing will be 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday. The body will be placed in the church at 10. Flower attendants will be nieces and friends. The family is at the home of his brother, Rev. and Mrs. George Devlin. Parks Funeral home is assisting the Devlin family."
