Professor Manning was a real lawyer, who after practicing for decades was dedicated to legal education at U Miami Law. He will be missed.

I was one of the many law students mentored by Professor Manning. I had the honor and privilege of being his student and his research assistant when I was enrolled in the LL.M Tax program in 1989-90. I learned so much from him! Not only was he a brilliant teacher, but also he was such a kind person. I will remember him always. My sincerest condolences to his family.

I never had the fortune of having Professor Manning as a teacher. However, as a student at the U Law School, one knew he was brilliant and a wonderful teacher. My lasting impression of him was that his vast knowledge and incredible competence never diminished his humanity. May his family and friends take comfort in knowing he was thought of so highly yet he never lost that humanity. May his memory always be a blessing.
