I taught with Elliott at Campbell Hall in the 1980's and early '90's. He embodied the very definition of the word "gentleman," and his kindness, dignity and courtliness made him a wonderful addition to the school. I consider it a privilege to have known him. I have a year-old granddaughter named Elliott, and while I still think it's an unexpected name for a girl, I have always liked it because it reminds me of Elliott McGrew.
