Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

I left off the last 't' in Elliott on one of the handouts for a sailing class, and he caught it. He started with saying he didn't know why his father had spelled it that way, and ended with a somewhat detailed explantion of the meterological phenomenon of the Dalles, Mt.Hood, the Columbia River Gorge and the problem of too little land worth farming. I visited the area the next summer. He had a way of pulling you into a whole new world, where you wanted to be. I will miss those other worlds.

I am thankful that Elliott was a part of my life. A wonderful wonderful man. I'm so sad to say goodbye, but happy he's now at rest.

Elliot was a friend and mentor at the Dept. of Energy and with the Wanderlusters Sailing Club. His zest for life was inspiring.

Such a warm and wonderful person - his death is a great loss. I have fond memories of him, not least of his acting 'in loco parentis' at my wedding in London when he and Sue happened to be passing through at just the right time.

My best to Elliott's family and dearest friends. As a first cousin, once removed, I spent far more time with his Oregon brothers, so I didn't know him, but he certainly had a stellar life.

Elliot was an inspiration to me. His passing is very sad. My condolences to Sue and their family.
