Not sure what to say?

I shared office space with Elliott for more than eight years. He was exactly as all have said about him. He was kind to everyone and very good at assessing his clients, as well as the merits of the cases he judged. I invite his daughters to reach out to me any time.

When I recently learned about his passing, I was utterly humbled-leaving his last impressions on me in 2001 was exceptional. He inspired me to do better and embrace a higher quality of living. He paved the way for a second chance. Human frailty is no match for good deeds and how we treat one another. Mr. Shoenthal exemplified what it means to be fair, just, and of sound judgment. He will forever be in the hearts and minds of those who love and respect him. It was an honor to be in his presence.

I just found out today about Elliott's passing away and it is so very sad for me to hear. I remember Elliot from DeKalb county. He is a good, honorable and decent man.

Judge Shoenthal wa a very great man. He was my attorney 23yrs ago and meet him again in juvenile court with my son 8yrs ago. It was alway a pleasure seeing this him. I feel a little more safe with him whom I consider an God sent angle.?

Judge Shoenthal was such an honorable man. My deepest sympathy and prayers go to his family and this community.

My son and I was having bad problems he is 14. When the police picked him up and took him to Dekalb we got Judge Shoenthal. He was very kind but firm about my son doing well and becoming a better person to me and at school. He wanted him to be better to himself..not to be short changed in life. It breaks my heart to know such a good man is gone. I was standing outside of his courtroom with my son there was mother who was sure her child would not be coming out with her. She was preparing her...

Dear Fran, Rachel and Rebecca,
I am so blessed to have met you all and to have been Elliott's secretary in Juvenile Court. He never entered the office without a smile on his face. He never stopped helping people. Often times he'd receive calls from previous clients asking for help (not knowing he was a Judge now) and he'd take the time to speak to the ones who were worthy of his personal response or he'd take time to jot down a referral, write an answer to their questions, and have me...

Just learned of Elliot's death. You are in our prayers. He was such a kind, compassionate person. May you take comfort in knowing how much he was respected and loved.

I interned with Elliott in the Dekalb Solicitor's Office. He gave me my first jury win, taught me care and compassion and to always take the high road. I pass his lessons forward so his spirit lives on. Heartfelt sympathies to Fran and family.
