Ellis A. Baker, 68, of Judsonia, died Saturday, January 18, 2014 at his home. He was born June 10, 1945 in Joy a son of the late Rev. L.L. and Reba Nell (Barnett) Baker. Ellis was a retired postal carrier in the Bald Knob area and was also a very talented mechanic. He was an avid toy collector, all of which were proudly displayed on his property known as "Baker's Acres" and was featured in the television series "American Pickers" in July 2013. Mr. Baker had also recently received his 40 year membership pin from the Studebakers Drivers Club.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Melinda Jane (Sterling) Baker; son, Robert "Doc" Baker and wife Haley; daughter, Robin Ann Pruitt; sisters, Dona Wilkerson and husband Perry and Lou Etta Morrison; grandchildren, Dalton, Jennifer, Sherri, Tiffany, Paxton and Julia; great-grandchildren, Madison, Logan, Keegan, Kalyn, Kendall, Austin, Kiaser and Ricky; special friends, Vickie and Kenny Algood. A special thanks also to Jennifer and Justin Morgan.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Delton Ellis Pruitt.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
