Ellis R. Weir of La Veta, passed away May 6, 2020, in Pueblo, at the age of 78. He was born in Pueblo on Sept. 13, 1941, to Robert R. Weir and Mae (Smith) Weir. He graduated from La Veta High School in La Veta. Ellis married Eleanor Ward on May 21, 1983, in Trinidad, Colo. Ellis owned Weir Trucking, LLC. Ellis is survived by his wife, Eleanor Weir; children, Walter, Bob (Daria), Joanna (Jeff) and Judy; sister, Helen (Ward) Jones of Dillingham, Alaska; six grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mae. Ellis will be laid to rest at the La Veta Cemetery during a private ceremony. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. the Fred Falk family is so very sorry to hear of the loss of Ellis. He fought a good fight and was always thinking of everybody else. The Weir family has been a main stay in the town of La Veta for many, many years. Always helping those in need.. Our love and blessings go out to Eleanor, his boys and the extended family.
