Ellis Robert Wolfe, 76 of the Knottsville Community went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 04, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Tucker County on May 16, 1928, the eldest son of the late Cecil and Iris Hovatter Wolfe. Ellis was a faithful member of the Knottsville United Methodist Church. He retired with 42 years of service with the Georgia Pacific Company (The Box Factory) in Grafton. He was also a member of the Grafton Kiwanis. Ellis was avid baseball fan and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and country music. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Ray who died in infancy.
Mr. Wolfe is survived by his loving wife of 56 years; Elva Nestor Wolfe, two daughters and sons-in-law; Kay and Mike Boyles of Grafton, Marilyn and Roy Rogers of Bridgeport, seven grandchildren; Carly Charlton, Dustin Kisner, Deveran George, Jarrett Boyles, Clinton, Carson and Chase Rogers, five great-grandchildren; Josie, Jada and Joey Charlton, Ashley Gibson and Megan Kisner, three brothers and sisters-in-law; Ralph and Shirley Wolfe of Knottsville, Charles and Joanne Wolfe of WI, Bill and Patty Wolfe of FL, two sisters and a brother-in-law; Wanda and Terry Nesler of FL and Dorothy Schooley of Grafton and several nieces, nephews and aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2005 at the Bartlett Funeral Home, Grafton with the Rev. Mike Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Woodsdale Memorial Park, Grafton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-9 p.m. on Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Knottsville United Methodist Church or Hospice Care. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.bartlettfunerals.com.
