Rosemary and Jim Bell send prayerful condolences to Susie, Sam and Lisa, and the extended Starr and Hollenberg families, deeply saddened as we are to have learned from brother Tom Bell of the passing of dear Elma, our friend, our long-time next door neighbor, and still our some-time correspondent during the years since we left Scranton (always a great note!). It seems somehow appropriate that dear Elma, sweet and gracious, should leave us on the cusp of the first day of Tishrei and Rosh...

I'm truly sorry to hear of her passing. She was one of my mother's best friends, while my parents, Morris & Lila Freidlin grew up and lived in Scranton. While I don't remember her personally, she was my G-D Mother, and faithfully sent me birthday cards every year. My mother always spoke of her highly and again was one of her best friends.May her name be of blessed memory. Sincerely, Steve Freidlin, Ft Worth, Texas and my sister Elizabeth (Betsy) Freidlin, Zeligson , Tulsa, Oklahoma

That included my mother, who worked with Elma at The Beverly in the early 1970's. Your mother set a standard for the store that nurtured her staff and attracted legions of loyal...

Sue & family, sorry for your loss.
