Read MoreMy earliest memory of Elmer reaches back to the fall of 1963 at Shenandoah Valley Academy. I can see and hear him now at the open bathroom window of Zirkle Hall calling, "good morning world!" Regardless of the temperature outside, the window would be open and his greeting would be broadcast for all to hear.

Elmer was a hard working friend and class mate. Elmer was always up beat and friendly and could always count on him for a smile and greeting. I am very proud to say he was a friend.
