Uncle Elmer was like a 2nd father to me. My early teen years were filled with memories of Uncle Elmer picking me up bright and early in the morning every Tuesday (during summer) to go deep sea fishing. We spent hours talking and I learned so much from him. He taught me how to fish, how to tie fisherman's knots, and how to set up a rock cod jig. He was kind, patient, and loving. Uncle Elmer also loaned me money as I was growing up. My first mini bike, my first dirt bike, and my first car. ...

My uncle Elmer was one of my favorite uncles. I will always remember him for his sense of humor and smile - he was always very positive and happy. He had the biggest heart. I will always remember how much joy they brought to our family when they would come out to South Dakota to visit us. Rest in peace Elmer and may God grant you eternal rest.
