Elmer D. Vanderwall

I wrote here back in Feb 2021of my fond memories and the influence he had on my life at the age of 17, but interestingly today I thought of him again when challenged with an ethical situation, and how he would have handled it. His influence on that young and impressionable 17 year old continues to influence 63 years later. This is truly the legacy that Christ inspired us to leave, he was a man who truly practiced what he believed. I will be forever grateful for having the opportunity to work...

Mr. Vanderwall will always be remembered by me as one of the blessings in my life. That I could have been so blessed to work for him a such a young impressionable point in my life, he was always a model for the person I wanted to strive to be.

I worked for Mr. Vanderwall in the hardware dept at Sears back in the 60"s while a high school student. I have always remembered the lessons I learned from this kind, ethical and Christian gentleman. I am so glad he enjoyed a long and fulfilling life close with the family he so loved. RIP my early mentor and guide.
