It was a genuine pleasure to work with Elmo, a first class gentleman all the time and a heck of a pilot. He will be missed.

I worked with Elmo at SC Johnson, and am very sad to hear that he passed away. Elmo was a wonderful man, always professional and kind.

A number of years ago, the normal group of flyers got together at the airport to decide where to go for the Saturday morning breakfast flight. Elmo was at the terminal and I asked if he would like to come with and fly with me. He declined saying "Flying is dangerous." To this day, I still haven't figured out if that was a statement in general, in jest, or if he saw some of my landings. It would have been an honor and privilege to have flown with Elmo.
