Not sure what to say?

Here is our impression of Elnie talking about her life, using her own words which we still quote: "Listen. You'll laugh. You knew me when I was young. My mother said, 'Be a lady even if it hurts.' God forgive me, but sometimes that's hard, because other people act like hammerheads. I think they do it de-LIB-erately. Well, Larry says we criticize our own faults in other people. No sense, no feeling." We love ya, Ma. Pete and Edie

Elnie, we have many fond memories of you over the years, spending holidays, birthdays and Sunday dinners together! There was never a silent moment with you with your gift for "gab". We have missed the Elnie we knew and loved and know you're spirit is living on. Love, Donna & Scott

Well, I only just met Elnie this winter at BHBS, as you all so fondly refer to this special place. And Elnie so clearly added her own unique brand of presence, lighting up both fellow residents and staff. What a free spirit! My love to you all. Fondly, Deborah

Elnie was always quite a character. But she always put everyone at ease and made them feel at home. And she played along with all of us brats with good humor, even if she didn't always get it.
We'll miss you Elnie.

Elna always opened her home and arms to me as a child. What a great laugh she had, and she laughed a lot. She was a good friend to so many - to my mother and all their church cronies, and to me. She was down to earth, said what she thought, and didn't put on any airs. Even though it has been years since I've seen her, I'll always remember her fondly as she used to be.
Love, Dawn

Thanks for putting up with me
Love, Richard

Elnie was a mom to me from the moment we first met. She let me know it was okay to get dirty, to stick olives on my fingers, and to drop one or two into Alan's milk when he wasn't looking (since he did it to me first!). Elnie was a genuine human being, and a feminist who held the world in her lap and stroked it into calmness. She is remembered fondly.

Elni enriched my life. I remember fondly the birthdays celebrated at her home in Hyde Park. The hymnal that served as the "Rule Book" - how much fun we had around the dinner table on those occasions!
There we were - Elni, Kenneth, Alan, Beverly, Jennifer, David, Martha, me ... I am grateful for "the little mother's" friendship.
See you in heaven, Elni.
Love, Penny
