Eloise Bryan, 90, of Etowah, TN passed away at her residence Monday, June 19, 2023.


Alice Eloise Hyatt was born to the late A.J. and Alice Nelson Hyatt on June 4, 1933, in Louisville, KY. Eloise earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California at Berkeley and her Master’s Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Eloise and Jack married on June 25, 1957, at First Baptist Church of Etowah. She was a church organist, pianist, and vocalist. Eloise was known as the “Mother of Miracle Lake” and loved all the students. She loved her husband and five children dearly, and the most important thing to her was her love for The Lord.


She is preceded in death by her parents, A.J. and Alice Nelson Hyatt.


She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 66 years, Jack Bryan; children and spouses, Shelley and Roger Casteel, Martin and Sheri Bryan, Robert and Gina Kelley Bryan, Becky Riley, Faith Ann and Ken Swayne; grandchildren and spouses, Laura and Andrew Lewis, Jacob and Kolby Casteel, Cayce and Jared Eslinger, Emily and Skip Skipper, Katie and Joel Rigsby, Caleb and Ashley Bryan, Abby and Danny Blanchard, Joseph and Rachel Riley, Benjamin and Kathleen Riley, Joshua Riley, Samuel Swayne; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Charlotte, Van, Lane, Brooks, Ella, Everly, Hyatt, Bo, Jacob, Jonah, Ida Mae, Silas, and one on the way; siblings and spouses, A.J. Jr. and Emily Hyatt, Nelson and Eleanor Hyatt, Ruth Kuykendall; many beloved nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Ruby Bryan Richardson and niece, Ginger and her family.


Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, June 23, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Etowah.


The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday prior to the service at the church.


Family will gather on Saturday, June 24, 2023 for the committal service.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday prior to the service at the church.

I met Eloise at a shower for Abby and spoke again at Abby and Daniel's wedding. She was such a delight to talk with and her love of God and her family was so evident. Heaven has received a beautiful lady.
