When my mother Stella took seriously sick, I found this draft of a poem for the Houghton Family:
Sparkling memories of you, Eloise. . .
Your interest and love of human kind
absorbed your mind
Our hearts are with you, Eloise and Family
Love from Stella, Martha, Daniel, Rosita Penzer

Dear Proctor,
At Cambridge Friends Meeting I was privileged to hear and will always remember Eloise's thoughtful, positive and inspirational messages from her wonderful unique wisdom. Her activism and support for so many years in the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom confirms her legacy in the tradition of Jane Addams. My deepest sympathy to her family, she will be dearly missed.

Eloise and her husband were regulars at the restaurant I work at; I knew her from coming in every Saturday. Even in going out for lunch, she made it a point to say hi to everyone, including the cooks, whom she became friendly with. We will miss her!
