Dear Dale,
I am so very sorry. I haven't seen you or the girls since they were very young, but I remember them so well. Elschen was so sweet and caring and Iliana was a little bundle of energy. I can't begin to imagine what you are going through. Our love and prayers are with you always. (You know, I can just see them all up in heaven with your Mom.) Your cousin, Cindy

My daughter Phoebe and I attended the beautiful service today, at Shannon Farm. Phoebe and Iliana were in the third grade together last year. Iliana was a true sprite, and darling little pixie, full of love and laughter, who had the most endearing smile and infectious giggle you can imagine. At night, Phoebe and I close our eyes and try to hear her laughter. We will miss her and her sister and mother, more than our simple words could ever express. But, boy, oh boy do we ever feel blessed to...

Dear friends and family of Laura, Elschen and Iliana,
These three wonderful human beings will be greatly missed by our whole community. I am a teacher at the Charlottesville Waldorf School, and had Elschen and Iliana in my handwork classes, and Elschen in my 6th grade art class. Both girls were hardworking students, who listened to directions carefully and worked with such amazing skill and with such beautiful results in everything they did. Little Iliana was always determined to use...

Dear family of Elschen and Iliana,
Both Elschen and Iliana joined my German language classes when they enrolled in the Charlottesville Waldorf School last year. Their mother was naturally concerned that Elschen especially (who was entering 6th grade) might have problems catching up with her class. Within a few weeks of getting to know both girls I knew that here were two particularly sparkling, lovely children. Iliana shyly, but confidently joined in from the start and shared with me many...

We knew the family through the Charlottesville Waldorf School, and that entire community thinks of your family constantly. Our daughter was in Iliana's class and two of our children played soccer with her as well. I recall assisting the coach in one soccer game where she seemed to be bounced around by larger boys for the whole game. She would come to the sidelines injured, rest for a few minutes and be ready to return to action a few minutes later. She was a delightful child, and we miss her...
