CLINTON

Elsie E. (Sprague) Gosselin, 90, died Wednesday, February 3, 2021, in Oakdale Nursing Center, West Boylston, after a period of declining health.  Her husband of 55 years, William F. Gosselin, Sr., died in 2009.

She leaves two beloved children: a son, William F. Gosselin, II, and his wife, Deborah, of Leominster, and a daughter, Lee A. Hazel, and her husband, David, of Clinton; four grandchildren who gave her much joy, pride, and happiness: Samantha A. Burns, and her husband, Brandon, Audrey L. Ashe and her husband, Corbett, David W. Hazel, and Jillian L. Hazel; two great-grandchildren: Corbett and William; a sister, Marion I. Kilcoyne, of Boylston; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elsie was born in Newport, NH, daughter of Almon R. and T. Kathleen (Gage) Sprague, and lived in Clinton most of her life.  She was a graduate of Clinton High School, class of 1948 and the former Salter Secretarial School, Worcester.

For several years, she was employed as a private secretary at National Grange Insurance Co., Worcester, and later, as the Office Manager and Rental Agent at Towne Lyne Apartments, Clinton, for 17 years until retirement.

After retirement, Elsie and her husband, Bill, spent time traveling throughout Europe, Hawaii, and the Scandinavian countries, which they greatly enjoyed.

Throughout her life, she maintained close and loving friendships with a group of “girls” who formed a club at a young age, dubbed “J.F.F.” – Just For Fun! She also had many other dear friends, whose friendship she treasured.

In light of the pandemic, funeral services and burial are private. There are no public calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, the Gosselin Family suggests that memorial donations be made to WHEAT Community Connections, P.O. Box 847, Clinton, MA 01510. Arrangements are under the care and direction of McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton.
