Elsie Marie Vann Griffin Jones, of North Little Rock, the daughter of T.C. Vann and Winnie Vann was born in Vilonia, Arkansas on May 25, 1918. On December 17, 2002, she was released to God’s Peace in her daughter and son-in-laws home with all of her children, brothers and sisters and her family by her side.

She was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church for thirty-four years, where she was a member of the Care and Share Ministry Program and was also Correspondent Secretary for the Ruth Sunday School Class. Mrs. Jones was a thirty-four year member of the Ladies Auxiliary Fleet Reserve Association, where she held the Office of President for eight years and was a standing Board Member for five years.

She was preceded in death by two precious sons, Doyle Jean Griffin and Danny Eugean Griffin. Survivors include her husband, of thirty six years, Seburn J. Jones, of North Little Rock; sister, Lily Mae Champlin, brother, Faber Vann, both of Cabot; brother, Pete Vann, of North Little Rock; son, Gary Griffin, of Fredericksburg, Texas; three daughters, Sybil Taylor, of Cabot; Carolyn King, of Austin, Arkansas; Dana Heyd, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be Friday, December 20, 2002, 10:00 A.M., at Faith Missionary Baptist Church on Camp Robinson Road with graveside services afterwards at Mt Carmel Cemetery in Cabot, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170, on line guest book and obituary www.northlittlerockfuneralhome.com.

Memorials may be made to Baptist Hospital Hospice. We lost a mother, sister, wife, a friend but the world has gained a Guardian Angel in God’s Realm to watch over us all. Spread your wings mom and fly – for you have surely earned them.

I'm glad I was able to meet you. You were such a sweet lady..Walking into your kitchen,watching you,Dana,& Sybil banter back & forth, hit me w/a force of emotions from times at my Grandma's house, I wanted to cry & smile at the same time.
