Not sure what to say?

This is what I read at Grandma’s Funeral

Good morning and thank you for showing up to celebrate the life of an extraordinary person.

As I thought about what I was going to speak about today, I thought where do I begin to select the memories from the 41-years that grandma has been in my life. I thought in stead of telling one story, I thought of the many things that she had an impact in my life and others.

First of all, I’m sure many of you know who she was...

I have so many fond memories of Mother. She was always building something, and would then tear it apart, and rebuild it. There wasn't anything she couldn't do, from sewing, to painting a gorgeous picture, or making a beautiful manger scene. She was a "take charge" person on one hand, and a very loving grandmother to all the grand kids. She was a wonderful hostess. She made up a beautiful table and could cook a great meal for all. My folks were involved in many clubs, such as coin club,...

Grandma Menegatti was just so much fun. She was always laughing. I liked it when my parents would go on trips alone because that meant I got to go spend the weekend with Grandma. I went camping with them one time, I don't know where we went but along the way we stopped by a small river. She wanted to go on the other side so we just plunged right in. About halfway across we realized we were the only ones in the water. Once we got to the other side a man came over to us and said we might...

I remember the many memorable trips Aunt Marie and Uncle Walt made to Arkansas. It meant the world to me because I didn't really have anybody here but my immediate family. Also the many, many days I spent in El Cerino when I was a kid. Lucille and I did the dishes after Marie would cook a wonderful meal. God Bless All. Jim

My Mom always told me that one of her favorite visitors was Aunt Marie, because she was always "up for anything." In 1988, I rode shotgun with Aunt Marie as she single-handedly drove the motorhome to and from Arkansas for my brother's graduation. I had an absolute blast talking non-stop with Aunt Marie, as she told me all about my Dad's family history (she did NOT hold back), and I felt a consistent comfort with her that is so rarely experienced. Over those 16 days, I grew to admire and...

Marie & Lucille 1945

Mom, Thanks for all of the sacrifices you made so that I could have a better life. I'll never forget your saying, "Can't never did anything!" You walked the talk, and accomplished so much. We shared a lot of laughs over the last two years, and good memories. I will truly miss you.
Love, Lucille

Grandma Menegatti was an amazing woman! There was nothing she couldn't do. She was an artist, seamstress (one time she sewed me a dress and Allen a matching shirt in 2 hrs)garndener,Mother, wife, Rv'r (she drove it!) she crocheted, knitted, embroidered, cooked (really good food) She raised turtles, and was an avid pet lover; She was an excellent housewife, Marie Menegatti the real "Martha Stewart". I watched her and took in her many abilities, I enjoy doing many of the things that she did so...

Grandma, you will be greatly missed! I will miss sitting down with you listening to your wonderful stories. You always made me laugh. Thanks for being the Grandmother I never had!
