I have a specific memory of Elsie from my 8th grade gym class. Back then, of course, the girls and boys were separated for gym class; but, occasionally, we were brought together for dance lessons. For one of the sessions, Elsie was my dance partner; and, I retain the memory of drastically botching my role in that experience. I never caught on as to how to dance -- a strange disability considering that I am quite coordinated otherwise -- and I wondered back then what Elsie was thinking as...

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your sister, Elsie Ann. I have many fond memories of growing up with your family as our neighbors. I last spoke with Elsie Ann at our 50th class reunion.

Elsie always had a smile for everyone. I remember the old days in Mudtown and the Good Cheer Club. Please accept my deepest sympathy.
