Elsie M. Yeakel, 87, of Steel City, died Monday, April 14, 2025 at her residence, surrounded by her family.  She is the wife of the late Stewart W. Yeakel, Sr.  Elsie was born in Riegelsville, PA on December 9,1937 to the late Walter and Bessie (Harrison) Strawn.  She had worked on the production line at Hanka Pierogi - Hellertown for 20 years.  Elsie is a member of St. Luke's Old Wiliams Lutheran Church, Williams Twp.  She enjoyed reading, puzzles, and word search


She is survived by her loving children: Susan M. of Bethlehem, Brian W. (Tammy) of Hellertown; seven grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. Predeceased by children: Stewart W. Jr. and Brenda Lee Pfeiffer; siblings: Howard, Walter, Edith, Virginia, Gladys, & Harold.            


Family and friends are invited to Elsie’s visitation period from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street – Hellertown followed by the service at 10:30 a.m.  The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.  A funeral repast will be held at the Carriage House at Heintzelmans, immediately following the graveside service.  To share an expression of sympathy with this family, please visit www.heintzelmancares.com.
