Not sure what to say?

DEAR, WONDERFUL FRIEND, I WILL MISS YOUR COMPANY, YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR AND FRIENDLY APPROACH I ENJOYED FOR DECADES. SAL DUCCIO [email protected]

DEAREST FRIEND OF OLD TIMES SPENT JOYFULLY ON THE CALDWELL STREETS, SOON, WHEN THE NATURE BRINGS NEW LIFE TO YOUR MOUNTAIN ROAD PARK, WE WILL CELEBRATE AND HONOR YOUR NAME ON THE SAD APRIL DATE. ALWAYS IN OUR MEMORIES: JOANNE AND DUCCIO SPERANDEO.

I remember Woody and my father (who was part of the ski area where Woody and Carlee met) working on a home made zamboni to help get the ice right on the pond.

He touched me... as so many...

God's speed.

I am very sorry not to have been able to attend the service for Mr. Walker. Like his daughter in law Ruth, I always called him Mr. Walker, perhaps because I was just a college sophomore when we met.

Byron and I were classmates at college and are still good friends, and I even dated Darcy for some time, so I grew to know and love Mr. Walker and his wife Carlee. I don't think I have ever known two people who were so generous and so community minded. If there was something they could do...

Alan and Byron so sorry for your loss.
Susan and Clint

I was just thinking of Woody a few days ago and now a friend back home tells me he has passed on. Although I grew up a few blocks away on Hillcrest Pl and broke my leg on/fished in the Pond, my precious memory of Woody was when I visited him several years ago as a long-distance historian. He was so generous with me, and such a role model for living life fully. I later talked by phone with Alan at length, and offer my condolences to all his family and friends. I see names here that take me...

Woody will always be known as Mr.North Caldwell. I had the privilege of working him through the Fire Department during good times and bad times. I remember when we had a tragic fire in town back August 25, 1973 when 7 people died in a house fire. It was caused by an instant on/off TV but e smoke was spread through the house by AC unit. Woody got a couple others from the NCFD an came up with an ordinance that required any home with central conditioning system was to have a smoke detector wired...

This is to express my sympathy and sincere condolences to the Walker family. Woody was truly a unique individual, who embodied the pioneer spirit of his Iowa ancestors. His technical skills led him to embrace computers long before most people understood what they were. His devotion to his family, friends and community was exemplary, and he was always willing to devote time and energy to all. It was a privilege to have known and worked with him, and he will certainly be missed.

Our sympathies to all the members and friends of the
Walker family on this great loss. Woody has done so much for our little town, including having founded, with Yvonne Goodhill, the North Caldwell Historical Society, in 1989. We will all miss him and pray he rests in peace. Maria, Ernest and Matt De Fazio
