I miss you Elyse

Alyce was one of the dearest people we ever met. She had a wry sense of humor and a giving spirit. She will always be in our hearts.

Literary genius, Maya Angelou, once said, "One isn't necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can't be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest."

Though I only know Elyse through her sister Kari, I cannot imagine another woman fitting this description better than she.

May her courage live on in those who must live without her.

You and Elyse have been genuine friends to me for quite a few years now. I am so sorry to you, Jeff and Allison, and everyone whoever felt the warmth and gentle kindness of spirit that Elyse carried with her. I have fond memories Elyse, and I'm honored to have experienced her strong and engaging presence as well as the incredible cloud of empathy and understanding that seemed to flow from her. I have great admiration and respect for her, and you, and I will think of Elyse often...

I will always remember the great times I had with you and Elyse during the ski trip to Vermont and at the Smiths'. Your wife had an inner spirit like few I've encountered in my life.
