I hope you remember me. I worked with you, as well as Laura Mauldin at the Diabetes Hospital in Birmingham in the early 80s, around the time that you were sweating the MCATs. You were a great friend during my time at the hospitall. I was sorry to hear about your Dad. Please know our prayers are with you. As a child I could hardly wait to see my beautiful uncle coming down the hill at zaza’s house with his luminous Cadillac and sugary southern smile.
My heart always melted when he said, “Hey princess come give your uncle Manuel a kiss”. He was my uncle of silky-smooth love and endless moments of laughter.
I will miss you dearly and keep your spirit alive.

For my fifth birthday, my parents took me out to eat for the first time. We went to Constantine's. That was quite a few presidents ago, but I still remember it. Every time someone talks about great Birmingham landmarks, Constantine's always comes up. That's quite a legacy!
