I miss my Dad more than words can say. He was a brilliant man with a great love of life, sense of humor and joy. Passionate about many things, including his family. His light burns brightly.

I have extended this page permanently as death is permanent and grief never ending. Those who knew my Dad know that he was a brilliant and multi-faceted man.
He was most proud of having survived the Holocaust, proving Hitler wrong when he said that no Jew would survive. My dad not only survived, but thrived, coming to this country not speaking English and with no money. Same with my mom.They literally came on the boat to Ellis Island. I still think of him often, his spirit, his wisdom, his compassion for others.

I had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Tanay during my 10 years living in Grosse Pointe, Mi and have the greatest respect for him. He inspired many of us through sharing his life during the holocaust. Those lessons will not be lost.
