Not sure what to say?

Emerson was amazing person and friend. We miss him. Love Leia & Karl Jarvis

Patrick (and all who loved Emerson), I hope you do not mind a message from a stranger. I did not know Emerson, but I recently had a chance to visit the Congressional Cemetery and accepted Emerson's invitation to sit on his bench. To share a chat and a smile. I never knew Emerson so I never saw that smile you all speak of. But I can tell you, on that day, I felt it's warmth. My condolences to all.

Dear Patrick;

We hope that your memories of Emerson remain clear and warm, and that your grief fades when you are ready.

Tom and June Carmichael

Our deepest condolences. We are so sorry for your loss and have such great memories of our time together in Osaka. Thank you for sharing Emerson, his smile, and contagious positive attitude. You both had a gift for making everyone around you feel welcome and loved. We appreciate your kindness and that gift. Know that he is in a better place without the challenges of pain and suffering, surrounded by those who love him. We will always remember him in our hearts... We miss you and hope you...

In loving memory of a wonderful person: We will miss your smiling face and heart full of humor and joy, and always remember the great love story that is yours and Patrick's.

Very sorry for your loss and grief; may the promise at John 6:40 give you comfort and peace.

Patrick,

Emerson is truly a unique soul whose infectious zest and enthusiasm for life brightened the world for the people who knew him. The many lives he touched with the gift of his time, a word of kindness, or simple companionship are a testament to his boundless generosity, and we were truly blessed to have known him. He is sorely missed.

Dear Patrick,

Emerson was one of those rare people who always made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. He was gracious and kind and funny and the best example of a diplomatic spouse. I know words fail at moments like this, but please know how sorry we are for your loss. It is a blow to everyone who knew him because we all loved him so.

Dear Patrick, I am grateful for the warm, inclusive hospitality that you and Emerson offered in your home many times in Japan. Warm memories of Emerson live on in my heart. The love, mutual respect and dignity that you both radiated in your marriage touched me deeply and inspired me to nurture a better relationship with my own spouse. Thank you, bless you, love you.
