Emigdio Avalos Lopez

Emigdio Avalos Lopez, of LaWard, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the age of 79. He was born in San Luis, Potosi, Mexico on August 5, 1942, to the late Rafael Avalos and Maria Guadalupe Lopez.

Emigdio was a loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Emigdio is survived by his sons, Alejandro Avalos (Claudia), Jesus Avalos (Norma), Federico Avalos (Magali), and Cesar Emigdio Avalos (Nidia); daughters, Teresa Gonzalez, Luisa Espino (Martin), Olga Medina (Simon), Flor Elizondo (Ramon), and Aide Amaya (Richard); brothers, Margarito Avalos Lopez and Anselmo Avalos Lopez; and sisters Enrrestina Avalos and Mariana Avalos. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maria Asuncion Avalos; daughter, Rosario Avalos; brothers, Felipe Avalos Lopez and Federico Avalos Lopez; and sisters, Eldifonsa Avalos, Consepcion Avalos, and Candelaria Avalos.  

Pallbearers will be Alejandro Avalos, Jesus Avalos, Federico Avalos, Cesar E. Avalos, Jaime Avalos, Martin Espino, Simon Medina, and Ramon Elizondo.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel in Edna, Texas. Rosary will be recited at 2:00 p.m. with funeral services to begin at 2:30 p.m. also in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at the Latin American Cemetery in Edna, Texas.
