My condolences to the Sorensen family. Emil was a Stillwater neighbor whose greeting was always accompanied by a big smile and a reminder that I was a Swede. Ironically, he grew up with my mom and aunts in Carlstadt and wound up living a stone's throw from my parents in Stillwater. He and mom traded "old times" stories. Emil's record of public service is one to be thankful for...a life well lived.

Being part of Emil's Stillwater family, I had the honor of being a part of his life. I always called him Uncle Emil. He was such an incredible man. So much history and many stories that he had told to all of us growing up just amazed me. He was a very classy stand up honorable man. Such a warm and caring heart. Uncle Emil we will truly miss you. Our hearts are broken but you are home at peace. God Bless
