Not sure what to say?

Emile Charlap was so helpful to me. I must have done over 60 movie recordings and many commercials for him. He was a great leader and an enthusiastic musician!

Saluting a Legend in The Music Industry who will be greatly missed your Musical Contribution will live on FOREVER. My sincere condolences Diane Shalom.

When I heard Emile Charlap play the trumpet, at his 60th birthday party, I told him I didn't know he played and asked him how good he was. He told me "I was just good enough that if I had been a little better, I would have been a complete failure in life." I have used that wisdom countless times in my life.

Diane, we are all here for you. And please tell him to look up my mother up there - she'll keep him out of trouble for you.

Much love,
Peter Hamm

The Charlap Family at Scaletta's, February 1997

I don't know where to begin here. "UncleEmil" has always been a great man to me. I have always loved his sense of humor, his love of music and love of the arts. I always looked up to him, how he was able to fully commit himself to every activity in his life, whether it is his career, his trumpet playing, his home on Fire Island, or anything else.

We will all miss him dearly.

I'm attaching a photo of the family from 1997 (Grandma Ruby's 80th birthday party) that has us all...

Diane
I just learned of Emile's passing.Marissa and I will miss him . I remember his magnificent ability to put musical notes on paper, play his instrument and help others make music. We both are right around the corner if you need anything. I mean that.

To me, he was simply, "The Unk". Will never, ever forget him.

Dear Diane,
Emile was and is an Unforgettable Player in my Life experience... I worked with and for him for so many wonderful years of musical abundance! Clearly, Emile has taken the Coda of a Much Greater Musical Score... and I will continue to Honor him in the Music Whenever and Wherever I hear It... His Song Sings On, in my Heart and in my Soul...
Love & Peace,
Jeffrey Mironov

Dear Diane,
Emile was so good to me. It is a pleasure to have played with him on Wednesdays for almost 30 years. May he rest in peace.
