Emilián Frank Foltýn

I just received the news and to Fr. Foltyn's family, I met Fr. Foltyn when he was at St. Mary's in Waco, Texas in the late 1960s. He and Fr. Jessie were a very young priests at the time. My two young daughters were in Catholic school there at the time. My oldest little daughter was terminally ill, and we had to make frequent trips to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Father Folytn gave me my instructions when I decided to become a Catholic in 1976. On the day I turned 25 I went to my instructions in tears. I was upset that I was getting "old"....He had me laughing, by singing me "The Lord's Prayer". As I remember he couldn't sing very well or maybe it was just the way he sang it that day.
