     Emilia C. Navarrete was born in Midland, TX on April 5, 1934. While raised in Midland, she attended local elementary and high schools. In her younger years, she was active in Church and school. She enjoyed all sports, including baseball, basketball, and band in both junior high and high school. While she also enjoyed being a member of the prep squad. She attended homemaking classes, which became useful when she was married.


        Emilia was a member of St. George Catholic Church and later became of member of Our Lady of Guadalupe, when the church was built in 1960. She was involved in several youth groups as well as singing in the choir, which she enjoyed. Before she was married, she was an employed as a polish girl at Kruger Jewelry.


        Emilia married C.R. Navarrete in 1954 and became a wife, mother, and homemaker. She took joy in reading and sewing for her children.


        Emilia was a loving and caring Wife, Mother, and Lita (Grandmother). She was preceded in death by infant daughters; Esperanza and Mary Geralyn, Parents; Pedro and Maria Castillo, Brothers; Jesus, Jose, and Roy Castillo, Sisters; Socorro Ruiz, Mary Carrasco, and Juanita Galindo.


        Emilia is survived by her husband of 68 years; C.R. Navarrete, Daughters; Connie Navarrete, Carmen Morales and husband J.R., Sons; Arturo Navarrete and wife Kathy, Jerry Navarrete and wife Manuela, Granddaughters; Melinda Ezell and husband Bryan, Esperanza Reese and husband Bradley, Crystal Navarrete, and Emilia Francis and husband Calvin, Sisters; Maria Elena Ochoa and husband Ramon, Rosa Enriquez, Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.


        Emilia’s viewing will take place at Lewallen-Garcia and Pipkin on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 1-9 P.M. The Rosary will take place at Lewallen-Garcia and Pipkin on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at 7:00 P.M.


        The Funeral will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 2:00 P.M.
