Emilio (Emil) Paci, 91, of Nemacolin, Pa., died at 5:45 A. M. on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at his home after a brief illness. He was born August 23, 1912 in Ascoli-Picceno, Italy, a son of the late Luigi and Josephine Furmani Paci. Mr. Paci was a 1934 graduate of Mapletown High School and resided at Nemacolin since 1940. He retired in 1979 as a foreman for the Buckeye Coal Company at Nemacolin where he had been a member of the mine rescue team. Mr. Paci was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Parish at Nemacolin since 1940 and was a member of U. M. W. A. Nemacolin Local 6290. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and fishing. On June 24, 1936, he married Helen E. Temo, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Thomas E. Paci and his wife, Barbara, of Clarkston, Mich. and Emil L. Paci, Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Troy, Mich.; three daughters, Emily H. Hritz and her husband, John, of Bonita Springs, Fla., Patricia A. Paci and her husband, Michael Conrad, of Chesterland, Ohio and Cynthia M. Madich and her husband, Gary, of Westerville, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Thomas Paci, Jr., Christina Paci, John Hritz, Jr., Robert Hritz, Emily Ann Hritz, Renee McDonnell, Johnna Deering, Anna Madich and Joseph Madich; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, Dominic Paci and two sisters, Giovana Conti and Adella Minerd.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P. M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 A. M. on Saturday, January 3, 2004, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A. M. at Our Lady of Consolation Parish, Nemacolin with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at Greene County Memorial Park. A parish vigil will be held at 3:45 P. M. on Friday in the funeral home. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

our sympathy to my aunt, cousins and there families on the passing of emil. be thankful for the length of his stay with you. I remember him as my first uncle and spent a lot of my early years at his home visting my cousins. he was always friendly, outgoing and young at heart. he seemed ageless. he will be missed. richard and julia quesada p.s. listed among his hobbies should have been that he also made a high quality home made wine which I enjoyed on occasions special or not
