I went to your funeral. I gave a speech I was nervous but I want to let you know I love you

I remember the day Emily transferred to my school. Long story short, she sat by me in 4th hour, and we quickly became friends. One day during class, she was drawing and she passed a note card to me, and on it, was a flower she drew. And I told her that I'd always keep that notecard and she didn't believe me. I still have that note card in my wallet to this day. Rest easy Em.

We did not know this beautiful and obviously vibrant young soul. But we have something beautiful, and of the heart, in common with her. Our Hofstra family has both organ donors and organ recipients. We know the heart-rending pain of losing a family member who saved lives by donating, and the heaven filled joy of having a family member saved by a generous donation of a heart. This makes us all connected by genorosity. The entire Hofstra family, of Michigan, California and Arizona. Bless...
