Not sure what to say?

It has been several years since Emily passed away, but please accept my deepest sympathy. I grew up with Emily in Dickeyville and she was a lovely friend! I named my daughter after her!

I send warm wishes to Emily's husband and family. I just learned of Her passing today from a colleague. I worked with her at Casey Family Programs and later at the YMCA of Greater Seattle. She was devoted to helping those young people most in need. I always enjoyed her kind, intelligent and intentional style, she was one of the kindest colleagues I ever worked with. My heart goes out to all in her close circle. Warmly, Rose Quinby

1 Corinthians 15:26

It's been a month ago today (April 2) that friends and family of Emily Parrott Cator celebrated her life with a beautiful ceremony down at the Cove in Normandy Park. The sun was in and out (mostly out!) and the clouds over Vashon Island and Puget Sound provided plenty of classic Northwest drama and beauty. In the late afternoon, Arthur Greef and I towed Emily's kayak into the Sound and scattered some of her ashes, together with the ashes of her beloved dog Oula, to be together in that...

Sending my sincerest condolences to Emily's family and dear friends for their great loss.

Chiming in another one of the Dickeyville 'Girls'.. our formative years (together) garnered strength for each of us, as well as etched deep, loving, lasting memories.

I can still hear Em's sweet, warbly, young voice, as we stood together in a circle harmonizing - 'Turn, Turn, Turn. . to everything there is a season. . and a time to every purpose. . under heaven'.

Emily's purpose...

I grew up with Emily in Dickeyville. One of my favorite memories is when I would spend the night at her house. We got to sleep in the beautiful guest room. We talked all night long and in the morning her mother made blueberry pancakes which was a rare thing back then! When I had my daughter, I named her Emily. I have a picture of both of my favorite Emily 's!

So very sorry that Em is gone...

We grew up in Dickeyville together and I can still remember her sweet smile, sparkling dark eyes and beautiful long brown hair. Emily was always sweet! She was gentle but she could be feisty too! I remember when the Beatles had just become famous and a group of us girls started our own Beatles fan club at the Parrott's house. We had cardboard instruments and borrowed white shirts from our dad's closets and tried to fix our hair Beatle style. Then we...

With the heaviest of hearts I send you my condolences.

Emily and I grew up together in Dickeyville. We were part of the "Dickeyville gang". We spent from our youngest years through our late teens as friends, and then as life would have it, we moved on in different directions.

I always have held dear the memories of my childhood, and will continue to do so with special thoughts of Emily.

My sincere wishes for comfort and...
