Not sure what to say?

I was one of Emily's professors and her academic advisor while she studied civil engineering at UVA. Her joyous and enthusiastic style affected all around her. At the end of a large lecture class, I allowed students to give shout-out points to other students that positively impacted their learning. More students acknowledge Emily that any other student in the class. As I had said in letter of recommendation: "Working with such a wonderful young woman as Ms. McDuff is one of the joys of...

I met Emily through work, then we played soccer together, and had the luck to be touched by her optimism, joy and endless smile. She always had a positive attitude towards pretty much everything and anything. I wanted to share our corporate soccer team photo to remember the good times in the field, her spirit will always be with us.

We played soccer together on the company soccer team and from her first day out she brought cheer and excitement to the team that made people want to play but also made everything joyously fun. We were all sad to see her go but excited about the opportunities she and her husband were pursuing in Chicago. I am saddened to hear of her passing.

We have known Jodi for her whole life and came to know Laurence and then their 3 children over the years. There are no words for my deep, deep sadness at learning of Emily's death. So young, so bright, so beautiful, so loved. May light perpetual shine upon her & may all who love Emily be comforted by memories & the knowledge that she is safe from pain & harm for eternity. Emily was my student at Chicago Booth. She was a shining light in the classroom and as a student leader, committed to making our planet a better place. She will be remembered by the faculty and staff at the school as she really mad a mark.

So sad to hear the news of Emily´s passing. Please know that our thoughts are with you. Andrew and Laura Sam

We are heartbroken over the loss of Emily. An intelligent and vibrant young woman, Emily was instrumental in working with a group of farm families toward a solar plan in northern Indiana. She will be dearly missed. Don & Cindy Kusper

We´re so saddened to hear this . Please know our love and prayers are with you all.

I remember a beautiful, sweet, and intelligent little student at Edgewood Elementary, always helpful and kind. I'm so sorry for this tragedy and I will be praying for her family and friends.
